I've raised £800 to support the Village of Hope, near Delhi. Myself, Ali and Mandy will be volunteering in January at the Leprosy bandaging unit and orphanage.

Story

The Village of Hope provides homes and care to many underprivileged people and those affected by Leprosy. Within the village there is a bandaging unit consisting of one 'foot doctor' who provides free treatment for the Leprosy suffers. The village has had a huge impact on getting Leprosy beggers off the streets. In January myself, Ali and Mandy will be travelling to Delhi to volunteer at the Village of Hope.

Ali and Mandy will be providing much needed medical care to help prevent the terrible foot ulcers, as well as educating the 'foot doctor' further on how best to care for the leprosy sufferers. As I have no podiatry training my role will be to assist in the bandaging unit when needed, but my main focus will be in the village school and orphanage. The village is in much need of supplies, specifically tricycles (pictured above) as they a lifeline to those who are unable to walk as a result of the leprosy, supplies for the bandaging unit and a TV screen to go in the orphanage for educational purposes.

To raise funds, my mum and I will be walking a marathon (due to injury I cannot run) on the 18th November. I have set up this page for anyone who would like to kindly donate to this amazing cause. Your donations will be used to buy vital supplies and equipment for the village. Thank you, Millie xx
