Hello, my name is Sarah, and with the support of close family and friends, I’m creating Millie’s Time — a new charity dedicated to supporting parents who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a child.

Together, we hope to make a real difference for families navigating the unimaginable.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide financial assistance for grieving parents — giving them the space they desperately need to heal.

On Sunday 25th February 2007, life changed forever.

That morning I took my little girl, Millie, who was just two and a half years old, to the park. It was an ordinary Sunday filled with laughter, play, and Millie’s beautiful smile. She was so full of life and happiness.

Just a few hours later, everything turned upside down. Millie was rushed to hospital after suffering seizures and an uncontrollable temperature. Within 24 hours, she was gone. She had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of meningitis – meningococcal septicaemia.

This devastating illness can take a child’s life so suddenly, leaving a family broken and forever changed. We will never forget our precious Millie 💗

In the days and weeks after her passing, we came to realise another harsh truth: while grief had stopped our world, the bills did not. We were expected back at work within weeks, at a time when even getting out of bed felt impossible.

That’s why we created Millie’s Time. Our aim is to give bereaved parents the one thing they need most — time. By providing financial support and grants, we can ease the pressure so families can focus on grieving and healing, not on rushing back to work too soon.

This charity is Millie’s legacy — a gift of time and compassion to other families walking the same heartbreaking path.

Important note – Charity Registration

Millie’s Time is a new charity currently in the process of registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission.

All funds raised will be used to cover start-up costs and to launch our first grants for families in need. If, for any reason, registration is not successful, any remaining funds will be donated in full to Love Jasmine, which supports bereaved families in a similar way.
