Story
One Step Can Change a Life
On 1st May 2026, I will begin walking 480 miles from Maidenhead to the summit of Snowdon in a challenge that will push both body and mind to the limit.
Over 30 days, I will attempt to reach one million steps — all to raise £100,000 for charity.
This challenge is about more than endurance. It’s about proving that ordinary people can do extraordinary things, and using that effort to help organisations that support families, children, and people facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
Every day of the journey will be live streamed on TikTok, allowing supporters to follow the walk in real time, see the progress unfold step by step, and be part of the journey from start to finish.
Supporters will be able to watch the miles unfold, see the communities along the route, and witness the final push to the summit of Snowdon.

We are also aiming to reach our first 50 supporters before the challenge begins on 1st May.
With your help, this challenge can raise vital funds for children’s hospice care, dementia support, mental health services, and community wellbeing projects.
Every donation — no matter the size — helps turn steps into real support for people who need it most.
The Million Step Challenge
On 1st May 2026, I will begin the Million Step Challenge — a 30-day endurance walk from Maidenhead in Berkshire to the summit of Snowdon in North Wales.
Over the course of the challenge I will walk approximately 480 miles, aiming to reach one million steps along the way.
This journey is about far more than distance. It’s about proving that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they decide to take the first step.
Only a short time ago my health was in a very different place. The Million Step Challenge is my way of turning that around and using the journey to raise money and awareness for causes that make a real difference to people’s lives.
Throughout the challenge I will be sharing updates, progress and stories from the road so supporters can follow every step of the journey.
What the challenge involves
🚶 480 miles
📅 30 days
👣 1,000,000 steps
The route will begin in Maidenhead and pass through many towns and communities across England and Wales before reaching the final destination — the summit of Snowdon.
Every mile walked will represent the generosity of the people supporting this challenge.
Where your donations will go
Funds raised through this campaign will be split equally between four important causes.
25% — Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice
Providing specialist care and support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, while also supporting their families during incredibly difficult times.
25% — Alzheimer’s Society
Supporting people living with dementia and funding research, awareness and support services for families affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
25% — Mind (Mental Health Charity)
Providing mental health advice, support and advocacy for people experiencing mental health challenges.
25% — Million Step Foundation CIC
Supporting community health initiatives, grassroots sport, and wellbeing projects locally and nationwide.
About the Million Step Foundation
The Million Step Foundation is a Community Interest Company (CIC) created to support health, wellbeing and community initiatives.
A CIC is a not-for-profit organisation designed to benefit the community.
No one involved in the foundation receives wages or salaries from donations raised through this campaign. All funds allocated to the foundation are reinvested into projects that support healthier communities and provide opportunities for people across the UK.
Why this campaign uses crowdfunding
This fundraiser is hosted as a crowdfunding campaign rather than individual charity team pages.
This approach allows the money raised to be split equally between all the causes involved, ensuring each organisation benefits fairly from the challenge.
Because of this structure, Gift Aid unfortunately cannot be applied to donations on this campaign.
However, every donation still directly supports multiple important causes through a single effort.
Suggested Donations
£10 – Helps support community wellbeing projects
£25 – Supports mental health and dementia support services
