On 2nd November, Ashley Spencer, owner of The White Gate Mirfield, will take on an incredible 575-mile challenge over 7 days — cycling, kayaking and running from Berwick-upon-Tweed back home to Mirfield.

He’s doing this for TCD.

Why 575 miles?

Because 575 lives were lost to suicide in Yorkshire in 2024.

Suicide is:

• 1 death every 75 minutes

• The leading cause of death in under 35s

• The leading cause of death in men and boys under 50

• A rising cause of death in young women

• 5 young people every day

• Around 200 teenagers every year

These are more than statistics — they are lives lost too soon.
