Story
During the May half-term holiday, Minworth Junior and Infant school suffered two break-ins in quick succession, resulting in twenty-five pupils’ laptops, fifteen pupils’ ipad minis and ten pupils’ ipads being taken, none of which are covered by the school's insurance policies taken out through the local authority and equally, none of which the school's already stretched budget can afford to replace.
Children within the school are already questioning 'why would somebody take things that help us learn?' and are asking 'how are we going to learn computing without computers or ipads?' And they are right to question this as until the school is in a position to replace this equipment, it is severely hampered in its ability to teach integral computing knowledge and skills to the children that are entitled to them, particularly in this digital age we live in.
As a small school that prides itself on fund raising for worthy causes, this unfortunate situation has seen to it that we now find ourselves as the 'worthy cause.' We hope just hope that the outstanding community support demonstrated time and again within the Minworth vicinity and beyond can once again pull together, this time in support of ourselves!
