Story
Stacey Madden is a well-known and respected member of the Blackley community. Known to many as 'Miss Stacey,' she is the principal of Stacey Madden's School of Dance (SMSD). With over 20 years of experience in the professional dance industry, Stacey has spent the last decade creating safe and fun environments for children and their families. She has shared her passion and talent for dance through her classes at the local Higher Blackley Community Centre and through her support of and collaborative work with local community groups and organisations. Stacey is also a busy self-employed mum to two young children, one of whom has additional needs due to autism.
At 35 years of age, Stacey has recently received the devastating news that she is facing Grade 3 Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer. This is a very rare diagnosis for someone of her young age. A tumor was found accidentally, and results have shown that aggressive treatment will be needed. This will include intense chemotherapy followed by several radical surgical procedures. Stacey is now facing the biggest challenge of her life, and it is my hope as her friend that the community will get behind Stacey and support her as she fights and wins this battle.
Stacey Madden's School of Dance (SMSD) has been a cornerstone of the Blackley community for over a decade. Under Stacey's leadership, SMSD has:
• Offered subsidised dance workshops for underprivileged children.
• Organised charity dance performances, raising funds for local causes.
• Supported community events by providing entertainment and performances.
• Created a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
• Organised celebratory and family events to praise and acknowledge her students' hard work and achievements.
Stacey's dedication to the community through SMSD has touched countless lives, and now it's our turn to give back and support her in her time of need.
Stacey will have to step away from her beloved dance school for an indefinite amount of time while she undergoes treatment. The financial impact of this is significant, and I am hoping we as a community can help alleviate some of this burden. I have set up this GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover her bills and ensure she has the means to spend quality time with her children, making precious memories during her well days.
I will also use this fundraiser page to share updates on Stacey's progress during her fight. Any words of encouragement and support shared here will be greatly appreciated and will mean the world to Stacey as she reads everyone's good wishes..
Please share and support if you can. Thank you xxx
