The Red Bag Co is a homeless outreach organisation which is active every Sunday on the street's of Birmingham and provides Hot & Cold food, drinks and other much needed essentials such as sleeping bags, clothing and toiletries. This year The Red Bag Co have been successful in helping twelve people off the street's into their own housing, accommodation and rehabilitation depending on their needs. At the moment we have three key support workers who are out on the street's as much as possible voluntarily to make a difference to people's lives:

In 2016 We have helped:
⦁ 8 people into accommodation
⦁ 24 People with benefit support and ID
⦁ 4 people into employment
⦁ 6 People through Rehabilitation
⦁ 3 People reunited with their families
⦁ Arranged a funeral for a baby which was miscarried on the street's
⦁ Arranged makeovers for four people
⦁ Provided over 200kg of food to the local community

What will the center offer?
At the moment we are giving out advice and support on the street's of Birmingham then accompanying the homeless to their appointments to ensure the correct procedures are done by the government agencies. A center would mean that the homeless are able to walk in and sit down with us in a quiet and secure environment. We would also have the space to run coffee mornings, 1 to 1 sessions and help them secure there ID, Benefits and counselling support. They would also have the opportunity to be inside away from the cold and know that whenever they need support, we are here. I hope that from the center this will minimize suicide among homeless people in Birmingham, if they know that they can always count on our service.
