Story
Every year on Christmas Day we run our Christmas Yay event which is for people who are on their own. Many of the people that attend have no family at all, limited friends, are socially isolated and wouldn’t even get a hot meal on the day or may not even be able to hear their homes.
For around 60 people every year, we provide a 3 course meal, refreshments, gifts, entertainment and transport to and from the event at Central Hall in Keighley with no cost to the attendees. This is all run by a team of amazing volunteers.
Normally we receive grant funding to run this event, however the grant funding available has been reduced to a quarter of the normal amount and it won‘t cover the cost of the day. We need to fundraise to ensure this important community event is able to go ahead.
The money will be used to pay for the venue (to cover energy costs), provide the food and the refreshments, gifts, entertainment, decorations and transport.
