In 2004 I was in a Car Crash and when I went to the doctors complaining of a headache and bad back, I was diagnosed 30/500 Co-Codamol Painkillers for the pain, I got these on a repeat prescription, within weeks I became hooked on the medication, a year later, I also got hooked on Tramadol as well, by 2007 I was taking off Tramadol, but stayed on Co-Codamol, not long after my Co-Codamol Prescription was stopped and because I was hooked, I would goto different Pharmacies to buy over the counter co-codamol tablets and became addicted to over the counter sleeping tablets, this has been going on for years, I have been hospitalised twice because of it, and I am now desperate to kick the habit and looking to fund a rehab programme.

I am a good guy who was dealt a bad hand, I recently got married and it has put tremendous strain on my marriage with my addiction being centre stage.

I feel I deserve this chance to prove I can beat this, if I dont beat it soon, I will probably end up dying and feel the need to do something, as I tragically lost my sister in 2015 aged 32, my mother has lost so much already and I dont want to widow my wife or leave my step-daughter. This will go some way to possibly saving my marriage as well as my life.

When I have took a load of tablets, I end up in a mind numbing haze, and when it wears off it makes me nervous and paranoid and when I withdraw the side effects are brutal, I need to withdraw all together and need to do it in the safest environment possible

This money will help me fund a 6 to 8 week stay in Rehab and I have already identified a place I would like to goto.

I also want to take this opportunity to raise awareness into the problem of Prescription Drug Abuse and Over The Counter Medication Misuse and campaign for further regulation of the sale of over the counter codeine products either campaigning for Codeine products issued on Prescription Only or more heavily regulated and prescribed by a qualified pharmacist prescriber
