Story
Thanks to AFJS for instilling in me one of the key values to promote ‘Healthy body and mind’ among children from a young age. I am inspired to do my bit by planning a long-distance cycling during the May half term holiday (~50 km in a day), before I turn 8 years old. My hope is that this effort will encourage my schoolmates, friends, family, and everyone around us to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, am raising for the The Friends of St Cross trust at Hospitals of St Cross, Rugby - volunteer-led charity dedicated to enhancing healthcare services in Rugby.
Some of the reasons for raising funds include:
1. Supporting the school in improving sports facilities and providing more equipment to benefit all students.
2. Helping the school purchase seeds and plants to teach children about growing their own fruits and vegetables.
3. Contributing towards the purchase of medical equipment for the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby.
4. Supporting the hospital’s vital efforts to enhance patient care and improve local health services.
Please support our school and the Hospital of St Cross by contributing whatever you can. Together, we can make a difference!
About me:
I am Mithra, Year 3 student from AFJS, 7 years old, with a passion for gymnastics and art. I started cycling at a very young age and completed my first 3 km ride when I was just 3 years old.
I enjoy gymnastics at Rugby Gymnastics Club thanks to my amazing coaches.
I’ve been learning the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam at Chitirakalaimandram for over two years.
I’ve been taking part in the GEC Rec junior parkrun—a free weekly 2 km run—for more than 80 weeks. I'm grateful to all the volunteers who make it possible.
I'm also an active member of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
I'm excited about the upcoming half-term break as I plan my long-distance cycling trip on 31st May 2025 with my family and few cycling enthusiasts who supported my brother’s last fund raising cycling event. Your support means everything! Thank you for believing in our cause!
I’ll keep you posted!
