I've raised £1500 to support a charity very close to my heart. Every penny raised will be donated to FARS sanctuary in Warwickshire, a home to nearly 500 animals

MY STORY
My name is Mitso Kehayioglou ('Vegan Runners') and I volunteer for a nonprofit organisation in Warwickshire, near Stratford-upon-Avon, called Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary (FARS), a forever loving home to almost 500 rescued animals, where they live in peace and are treated with kindness and respect.
I am going to run a 250 miles race in 100 hours (known as Thames Ring 250) to raise much needed funds that will go towards the daily care of these beautiful beings.
The Thames Ring 250 is an iconic 250 mile trail race starting in Streatley-on-Thames and following an anti-clockwise loop East along the Thames, up the Grand Union Canal and back to the Thames via the Oxford canal and finally back to the start.
From 23rd to 27th June, I will have 4 days 4 hours to complete this extremely tough run, navigating using maps, testing my endurance to the limit along with many long hours with little sleep and dark nights. The only support allowed is every 25 miles at official check points.
The sanctuary doesn't receive any government funding and relies purely on public donations. It costs FARS over £2500 a week just to cover the costs of animal feed and expenses such as bills for rent, electricity, water, vet bills and the general up keep of their site.
I really hope my run can help raise not only money for FARS but also awareness of the incredible work they do in order to save lives of hundreds of innocent animals.
I will be grateful for any amount you can spare to support me and my cause.
THANK YOU!
Mitso
