Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Bob, Jacob and Jody are raising £2,000 for our Mixed Ability Rugby team. What better way to do this than exiting an aircraft from up to 13,000 feet and accelerating to around 120 mph, covering each thousand feet in approximately five seconds!

What is Mixed Ability Rugby?

The mixed ability team supports inclusivity by providing opportunities for individuals of varying abilities facing diverse challenges to participate together. They achieve this by training within a mainstream club, being equal members, aiming to meet personal goals, and addressing stereotypes related to sports and the tradition of separating participants with disabilities. This team is suitable for those looking to improve fitness, manage a condition, or play rugby socially. Many of our players rely on our help to provide them with kit to train in and specialised equipment to ensure they can enjoy their sessions to the full.

What's happening?

Initially funded by Sport England and sponsored by MacIntyre, www.macintyrecharity.org, we are now in a position where we need further funds to continue providing this opportunity to everyone.

Bob, Jacob and Jody (who's scared of flying) have decided to set themselves the challenge of a parachute jump to raise funds to ensure this great opportunity remains open to everyone is fully funded.

Bob is a coach and father to one of our players, Ben. Jody is the clubhouse manager and Jacob is Ben's brother. Everyone has been motivated by witnessing the joy our sessions bring to the players, as well as their personal growth and development.

Are this team supported correctly?

Pippa Bruckland, the Head Coach, possesses nineteen years of extensive experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, ODD, learning disabilities, SEMH, behavioural challenges, and physical disabilities. She is a qualified mental health first aider and a Level 3 First Aider. She played youth rugby for Olney RFC and has supported various rugby clubs in different roles over the years. She is supported by Paul, Richard, Daryl, Bob, and Mike, each of whom has extensive experience in playing or coaching rugby. All coaches are volunteers and unpaid.
