ONE MAN & HIS TOMCAT - 2025 - CHARITY MOTORBIKE RIDE FROM LANDS END to JOHN O’GROATS then ARDNAURCHAN POINT (furthest point West) to NESS POINT (furthest point East) - JUNE 2025

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm trying to raise at least £1,000 to fund the cost of some much needed iPads for St Josph's Roman Catholic Primary School, Barnoldswick.

I’m Michael O’Connor (MJOC): On Saturday 21 June 2025, I’m hoping to ride my £600 1988 Kawasaki (Ron the) Tomcat from Lands End to John O’Groats in the 24 hours of the Summer Solstice.

The next day I’ll move across the Highlands of Scotland ready for the next leg of my trip. The following day, I travel from Ardnamurchan Point (furthest point West on UK mainland) to Ness Point, Lowestoft (furthest point East).

If I make it in one piece (the bike from Rock & Motorcycle, Colne will be fine) we’ll be home in Pendle the next day!

Total mileage c2250 miles

This trip is self-funded and unsupported.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School strive to provide the highest quality of Catholic education; promoting the academic, physical, spiritual, moral and social development of each child to reach their full potential. We wish that our children leave St. Joseph’s with a love of learning and become valued members of society and the Church.

Our school ethos embraces Jesus at the centre of all we do and say while St. Joseph’s embraces our wider community and our school staff and pupils reflect multi-cultural and belief heritages.

I’m a governor at this great school and am looking to raise some money to support the purchase for of some iPads for use by the pupils. St Joe’s is a very small school – rated Good by Ofsted – and has limited resources to provide up to date IT equipment for the kids.

Education is a partnership between home and school and we place a great deal of emphasis on this partnership, engaging our parents at many levels. This partnership is invaluable in ensuring our children fulfil their potential.

Children coming into the school bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the world around them and it is our aim to build on these skills and promote a willingness and enthusiasm to learn more.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, I will withdraw funds directly and pay into the school. It's the most efficient way to donate and saves time and costs.

However, parents can also make contributions direct to St Joe's using cash or via Parent Pay.

I'm also trying to raise money for the Alzheimer's society - please see https://www.justgiving.com/page/mjoc-one-man-and-his-tomcat-charity-mbikeride-alzheimers-2025

THANK YOU - in anticipation of your support - MJOC
