Story

Every promising young mathematician deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or the school they attend.

MMIP addresses a critical gap in Cambridge Mathematics interview preparation by connecting competitively selected Year 13 students with Cambridge Mathematics undergraduates/alumnus and current students for weekly mock interviews and targeted preparation.

Our intensive 3.5-month programme provides the kind of high-quality, specialised support that can make the difference between a successful application and a missed opportunity.

With 15 dedicated students currently participating, we are delivering high-quality group interview sessions that help ambitious candidates practice articulating their thought process within the Cambridge mathematics interview format.

Each session includes 2-3 students answering questions in real-time, with others observing and learning. Everyone receives the questions, and all students benefit from the post-interview discussion and Q&A. The active students also receive individualised feedback after the mock interview. This approach lets students learn both by doing and by watching others tackle similar challenges. We designed this structure in order to keep the group sizes small enough that every student - whether actively participating or observing - gets real value.

The donations will go to the administrative work of sourcing high quality interviewers, compensating the undergraduate interviewers fairly for their time and expertise, developing interview questions for each session, sharing their problems with active and non-active attendees, and for providing verbal/written feedback to active attendees for their session.
