) Hi there all. Thank you for taking the time out to read Allan’s story.

I am collecting funds for my good friend and neigbour of 47 years Allan, whom last week suffered a horrific blow to his life (and health). Allan‘s only son, Godfrey, whom he lived with and depended upon, passed away of a brain hemhorrage. Godfrey’s death not only left Allan devestated, but also in severe stress at the prospect of not having the means of financial support that Godfrey provided for him. There has been talk of placing Allan in a care home, but I take a profound disliking to that proposition, thus, I have decided to raise as much funds as is possible to keep Allan in his own home, and retain that sense of independance.

My wife and I fear that this financially induced stress, on top of the grieving of Godfrey, will be detrimental to his health. Those of you whom are familiar with the Salvation Army in Bristol (just off Avon Meads) will know how actively involved Allan is in the running of the Bristol division. We ask that all of you do your little bit, and restore Allan to his old self.
