I've raised £500 to help fund the sterilisation of cats and dogs in Mompiche, Ecuador

The Foundation for the Eradication of Maltreatment of Animals (FEMA) is the foundation for the Animal Rescue in Mompiche, Ecuador. Fabiola Minda works alone every day looking after the abandoned animals here (cats, dogs, horses, chickens and ducks, as well as any other animals that need her help) with support from volunteers when they come, as well as the patrons of the foundation. On top of looking after those in need she's also been working hard to get a sterilisation campaign going in the town, which doesn't have a vethink, and the nearest clinic is over 2 hours away by bus. It's difficult to control the population of cats and dogs in the town without this kind of campaign, so to have the mobile sterilisation team from Quito here with their mobile clinic for 3 days is amazing. This is their second visit to Mompiche and with more work and support we're hoping to be able to offer the clinic every 3 months to encourage people to bring their animals for sterilisation and vaccination. Obviously this costs money and although the clinic is performing the operations at the most minimal cost, the foundation are supporting those in the village who don't have the funds. Unfortunately, the foundation themselves don't receive much support and rely soley on donations from generous people like yourselves. Any amount you can spare goes such a long way here with just £20 covering the cost of a neuter or £8 covering y he cost of the vaccinations for a dog or cat. Every penny counts as so much more here. And everything is received with mountains of gratitude and love :)
