I've raised £500 to help fund a new Dance for Parkinson’s Therapy group in our area

continue support our exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s and other Neurological Conditions, as well as Movement Disorders in our community of Neyland, Pembrokeshire. As well as physical exercise, we provide a time and a safe place where to have a ‘cuppa’ and a biscuit, a friendly chat, a moan and a groan but also and more importantly, to receive practical supports do have a laugh
today is the day!
‘Here we shave again ‘, or rather, this time, cut very short!
As the condition advances and I struggle more, I don’t feel as bold or brave as I did 2 years ago when I went bald. The confidence is gone but clearly not the madness or determination!
Still, I believe awareness plays a huge role. So, when people query why I did it, they might understand the condition a bit better and more importantly the every day challenges encountered when living with Parkinson’s. Nobody sees the constant pain, the fears, the isolation or the frustrations.
It is all very well to want and seek a cure. I support research fully but too often, quality of life is overlooked, treatments to alleviate the devastating effects of this degenerative condition are still hit and miss. The brain is a complicated thing.
This is why, this time, I’m concentrating on the therapies that make a difference. It is documented, exercise, and dance in particular, do alleviate some of the symptoms. With that in mind, we’re asking for a little help to create a brand new Dance for Parkinson’s therapy group in our locality ( only 3 in Wales). It would make such a difference to a large number of people who live with the condition, and their families and friends, in our community of Neyland and wider area of Pembrokeshire. This will help subsidise a space and a teacher so that we can keep cost to a very affordable minimum for all. We will also offer refreshments and a chat.
Thank you all for the support. It is truly appreciated. Every little bit counts! 😀

Thank you to Philippe from Montpellier Ovalie at SWAGG Coiffure for starting the process. Wonderful help from all there! Thank you.
