I am overwhelmed by the generosity of friends far and wide THANKYOU

The Mayor’s Flood Recovery Fund has been overwhelmed with applications. We have received requests from residents, businesses, and community groups across Monmouth.

Due to this overwhelming response and the number of claimants requesting the maximum amount available, it is extremely likely that demand will exceed the funds available. Applicants should be aware that they may not get everything that they have asked for.

We are working carefully through every application, working to specific criteria, to ensure that money is distributed fairly, transparently, and prioritising those most in need. The process is well underway, and we are moving as quickly as possible. Every penny raised will go directly to helping those affected , ensuring practical, immediate support reaches the people and organisations at the heart of our town’s recovery.

Phase 1 will close for applications at close of play on Wednesday 3 December 2025 to ensure pre-Christmas payments can be made. We actively encourage any remaining applications to be submitted as soon as possible to ensure they can be considered in phase 1.

The JustGiving fundraising page will close on Sunday 14 December 2025,however please be reassured that people can still donate directly via Monmouth Town Council, if they would like to contribute to the fund after this date. Please email or phone Monmouth Town Council for further details should you require them.

The response from the public has been truly inspiring. Donations continue to come in from near and far, reflecting the generosity and resilience of Monmouth and beyond. This fund represents a community that stands together in times of crisis, and I could not be prouder of our collective effort.

This fundraising page has been set up by the Mayor of Monmouth to raise money for residents affected by the devastating flooding in Monmouth.
Thanks to the incredible generosity shown by so many, we have already exceeded our original £5,000 goal. Your support has been overwhelming, and it means we can move quickly to get help to the businesses, community groups and residents who have been affected by the devastating flood.

Because the need is so great, we’re pushing for more. We have now set a new target of £150,000 so we can provide even greater support where it’s urgently needed.
