Story
Twenty five years ago, Sir George Martin created Music for Montserrat, a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, raising funds for Montserrat following the major eruptions of the Soufriere Hills volcano. Major artists who had recorded at Air Studios in Montserrat performed. The funds raised were used to create the Cultural Centre in Little Bay Montserrat. This iconic building houses concerts, legislative events, training, community days and much much more. On the 25th Anniversary of the concert, as Governor of Montserrat, I will be hosting an evening of music and celebration. We hope to raise funds to replace safety features, make the building more accessible and to modernise ready for the next 25 years. Any support no matter how small will be very much appreciated.

1 year agoThank you to everyone who has supported through this page, and directly to the office, we will be closing this site now and using the funds in the New Year to undertake some work on improving safety and accessibility. The Cultural Centre is a fantastic venue, that is central to many Montserrat events, and I hope you will see work as it develops over the coming years, do follow the Montserrat Arts council and the Governors Office Montserrat on Face Book for ongoing updates. Music for Montserrat 25th Anniversary event, celebrating culture and music will be on Wednesday 12th October from 4pm at the Cultural Centre Looking forward to seeing as many people as possible The centre is an important part of Montserrat so please support of you can and make a donation here. #bethechange #community
