    Story

We are Colette, Elyse, Maddie and Jess and we are raising money for our non-profit company, Moonbeam Theatre! We create innovative multi-sensory theatre for children and young people with special educational needs and/or profound and multiple learning disabilities; providing them with opportunities to explore and discover in a playful and engaging atmosphere.

Although the world has begun to return to normal following the pandemic, the effects on the arts industry are long lasting. With Arts Council England and other Trusts and Foundations receiving a high volume of applications they are currently unable to meet the demand and fund many worthwhile projects. Therefore now more than ever we need your help to continue doing what we do.

Since forming as a company in June 2020 we have created a free-to-watch online series titled 'Moonbeam Mini's', released a multi-sensory filmed production 'Between the Trees', completed a Research and Development project with our partner school, St Nicholas School, Canterbury and completed a live tour of our immersive, under-the-sea show 'Scuba-Dee Scuba-Daa' to schools in Kent and Essex, We aim for our work to be accessible to all who come to experience it and to achieve this aim we also have to keep our work affordable.

After completing the tour it became clear how important our theatre is to those who experience it. A quote from one teacher stated "our pupils are constantly having to ‘fit in’ to activities that visit us, so it’s really great to have something that is just for them." Along with this numerous teachers told us "our pupils NEED what you do."

Therefore, we want to ensure we can continue to reach our audiences. We are a non-profit company, however, we still have core company costs, artist fees and materials costs to cover. A donation of any size would really help us to keep achieving our aims and reaching more people.
