🎬 'More Than A Mountain' is a powerful documentary that follows 15 incredible women of all ages and abilities as we faced the emotional and physical challenge of climbing 5,550m Yala Peak in Nepal.

Led by me in April 2025, this expedition was more than just a mountain climb. It was a living tribute to Junko Tabei, the first woman to summit Mount Everest on 16th May 1975, and a trailblazer whose name deserves to be celebrated, not forgotten.

Junko didn’t just make history, she shaped it. She believed the outdoors should be for everyone, not just the elite. She founded the Ladies Climbing Club of Japan, led inclusive expeditions, pioneered environmental education for children, and broke down barriers for women and girls in the mountains.

Yet her story remains in the shadows.

‘More Than A Mountain’ shines a light on Junko’s legacy while telling the deeply personal stories of 15 women walking in her footsteps on an expedition which Junko led 2 years after her Everest success.

We have captured the footage. Now we need your help to bring it to life.

🎥 More Than A Mountain is being premiered during an evening of celebration for Junko Tabei at Kendal Mountain Festival on 20th November, and will be entered into further film festivals worldwide during 2026.
