Story
Nick Mowl tragically took his own life at the age of 41 just a few years ago. He was a popular member of his community having formerly played football for Solihull Moors FC and coached teams at both Coventry City and Birmingham City.
One of Nick's closest friends Richard Beale, who is the current Birmingham City U23 coach decided with the best wishes of Nick's father to hold an annual charity football tournament with all the proceeds going to a Mental Health Charity.
Unlike most donations that go into a larger pot where there is limited or no influence over what happens to the donations, Richard and his team came up with the idea to create a new way for people who were suffering from Mental Health who are unable to pick up the phone a speak to somebody but still need that vital support when at a low point in the lives.
The new service is a text messaging facility that is planned to be rolled out throughout the country and could help many more people, some of who could be our friends and family, or even you.
This year the Nick Mowl Cup will be played on Monday May 6th at Solihull Moors FC, and has attracted major interest from the local and national press, including the BBC, ITV, Sky Sports, The Sun, The Mirror and the Birmingham Mail, to name but a few.
The event is also being supported by all 7 Midlands football clubs with stars both past and present pledging their support for the event.
Morgan Sindall are very pleased to be announced as the Main Sponsor for the event and we hope that our employees and supply chain can join us in helping to reach and exceed our target donation for the event on Bank Holiday Monday May 6th.
Other events during the day include a presentation from former Premier League Referee Alan Wiley on the new technology in the modern game including goal line technology and VAR.
We hope that you are able to join us on the day, and we really appreciate any donations that you are able to make.
It really will make a difference.
Thank you
