Story

George tragically and suddenly died on the 16th August 2017 of Meningitis B whilst attending a festival; for which was misdiagnosed and meant that he died alone on the floor of a welfare tent. If there is one thing you take away from reading this, I personally ask that you know the symptoms and that you make sure you and your loved ones are vaccinated.

Celebrating Zoggy’s life on his one-year anniversary with others, we channelled our grief into something positive by cycling from London to Paris – successfully contributing to fund the trials for the Men B vaccines in teenagers; the strain of Meningitis that George contracted.

5 years later in June 2024, I'm climbing Kilimanjaro - the highest free-standing mountain in the world and a dormant volcano; whilst walking through 5 ecological climate zones - from rainforest to the artic zone at -20 degrees.

In addition to training in preparation for the climb, I will be running the Bristol 10K and returning from the challenge to complete the South West Tough Mudder.

90% of children and teenagers who die of meningococcal meningitis die within 24 hours.

The money I raise will contribute to the millions that is required to invest into research, introduce life-saving vaccines and aim to boost our country’s ability to identify the symptoms. Most importantly it will help support victims, families and friends who have been affected by the disease, like myself and George’s family when losing Zoggy at the age of 18.

All donations will be split between two local Meningitis charities, Meningitis Now and Meningitis Research Foundation. I will also be making a 20% donation to a local cancer care centre who alike many across the UK support our friends and family when they need them most.
