Story

In 2018 we crowdfunded to bring Leeds Little Free Library to Morley. You did such a stand up job contributing and spreading the word and it was a resounding success. Together we raised the money to build the library box pictured above. The beautiful Koi box was painted by the late founder of Leeds Little Free Libraries Carry Franklin. We installed it on Scatcherd Lane with a host family who have looked after it superbly.

The box has social media pages that have helped to build the community feel. We’ve discussed books, reunited lost photos with their owners and chatted about our love for the area.

So all that sounds great hey, why am I here again? Well... I’m here to ask again for your help to bring another Little Free Library to our community. The Scatcherd Lane site was a fantastic choice for our first box, but Morley has definately got room for another. I’d love to bring the second box to Middleton Road.

It’s a busy residential road, on a bus route with two AMAZING schools at either end and wonderful neighbours-I‘m deffo biased because its my street! I am personally donating 10% to this fund, will seek funding from grant providers around the county and am asking if you can help me find the rest.

Truth Talk. Covid-19 has been MASSIVE and you might ask why is this a priority now? We’ve all spent the last year isolated at home and looking forward we must come back together. Fingers crossed here is where the tipping point has been reached and we can start to build the new normal together.
