Hello Morley and surrounding areas!

Have you seen the Little Free libraries that are popping up all over Leeds?

They are an honesty box library located in the community where you are invited to take a book and leave a book. Open 24 hours a day, they are not intended to replace your already awesome library but to complement it. We've all picked up a paperback finished it and thought 'wow, someone else would love to read this I bet!'

Little Free libraries promote kindness, sharing, civic pride, recycling and reusing, are a good talking point, social media check in and meeting place.

I would love for Morley to have its own Little Free Library and am raising money through a mixture of community grants and crowdfunding on social media. The total cost for the project is £600, this covers the cost of building the box and the beautiful handpainted design of the finish. I intend to install the box myself to save additional costs for labour. The life expectancy of the box is 10 years and I propose to be responsible for the upkeep and tidiness of the box.

Where it goes will be decided once the money is raised and the box is being built but am totally passionate about it being somewhere that is open to everyone to use, so not locked away or hidden or a huge trek from the centre of Morley.
