As part of the year of the young person, I am lucky enough to be visiting San Diego as part of a church exchange. Maryhill Parish is sending me out to be involved in Kensington Community Church as part of a young leaders training programme to develop skills and broaden horizons to help me to reach my full potential.

During my month there, I will be participating in lots of activities such as being involved in a project that Kensington Community Church works closely with in Mexico and visiting an African-American church, to give me an appreciation of the cultural history of that tradition. The church is also involved with the problems around homelessness, which I something I feel strongly about. Daily activities will include working in the church kindergarten and Summer Holiday Cub. As I am studying to be to a Child Development Officer, this experience is something that I will benefit hugely from in achieving that and I know I will really love it!

Please help me out in whatever way you feel you can. I feel really blessed to have this opportunity, and I am so excited!
