Story
Kasia Przygoda (Kowalik) is one of my best friends. I have known her since we were children. She was due a month before me. I stopped hearing from her and unfortunately the news that I got eventually (which my mum gave me only after my own delivery) is that my friend is in a coma since 10 April 2016. Kasia could not deliver naturally and had to have a c-section. Due to further complications and internal bleeding, Kasia has had lack of oxygen to her brain and went into a coma during the second operation, which was a fight for her life. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter Julia. While I can enjoy being a mother to my 3 month old daughter, she cannot and it is absolutely heartbreaking for me and her family. Kasia was initially placed in an institue called 'Light' in the Polish city of Torun, which is known for helping patients in a coma. As her condition was not improving, her husband did everything to take her home, which he believed would be the best place to stimulate and rehabilitate Kasia. He is now looking after her 24/7. I have visited Kasia and her family a few times already and I knew Kasia was aware that I was there. She cried as I walked in the first time I paid a visit. We all believe she will wake up. But she needs help. She is seen by a rehabilitiation specialist daily and a speech therapist several times a week. She also needs other essentials to keep her healthy and clean. I would appreciate any donations. Absolutely anything will help the family give her the best care and ensure the best rehabilitation. Thank you very much ❤️

8 years agoDear ALL. Some of you might have seen the TV programme on TVP2 tonight, Express Reporterow. Kasia is physically responding to rehabilitation, however, otherwise we have seen little progress. We are still awaiting on test results regarding a potential operation of inserting a stimulator to Kasia's brain. We are still very hopeful and want to do our best to give Kasia the best chance of recovery. Thank you so much for your ongoing support. Kasia's daughter is a healthy little girl, who is currently making her first attempts at waking xxx

8 years agoDear All, thank you SO MUCH for all of your donations. We are currently impatiently waiting on the results of tests on Kasia's brain to see if she qualifies for a brain stimulator surgery. 8 years agoKochani, Dziękuję Wam bardzo za pomoc. Bardzo się cieszę, że udało się już zebrać ponad £2000. Kwota ta pozwoli rodzinie Kasi na zapewnienie jej miesiàca rehabilitacji, zajęć z logopedà, leków i innych niezbędnych środków potrzebnych do jej pielęgnacji. Wspòlnie z rodzinà Kasi, zbieramy ròwnież pieniàżki w Polsce, majàc nadzieję, że Kasia zakwalifikuje się na operację wszczepienia jej stymulatora do mòzgu. Nadal nie tracimy wiary, że Kasi stan polepszy się dzięki rehabilitacji jakà obecnie otrzymuje i że będzie w końcu mogła być mamà❤️ ❤️ ❤️
