Story
I have set up a website to help facilitate the relocation of Ukrainian refugees into our local community and the surrounding areas. The aim is to work with the Government agencies / other charities, to create a wraparound support network for both local hosts and their guests and ensure no one slips through the gaps. Going forward we aim to offer a programme of charitable assistance to help them rebuild their lives
They will need many levels of support from mental health and well-being support, a way to communicate and reconnect with their homes and families, help with language barriers, digital support, schooling, finding jobs, and simply starting to rebuild their lives. Hosts will also need a wide range of wraparound support services. We intend to facilitate this through linking people with existing charities, helping to sign post and connect people to existing support networks as well as filling in the gaps. Our support will start from day one, in the form of a welcome box, through to gift boxes of toiletries and new clothes, Joyful experience vouchers, Buddy Tribe programmes, administrative support, English language support, Well-being programmes, all focussed on empowering our guests to starting to rebuild and take back control of their lives, enabling them to move forward more quickly.
This is not focussed on buying emergency aid products (there are lots of fabulous charities already doing that) but more focussing on the long term rehabilitation that these displaced people will need.
Thank you for your support.
