Story

The Yh Training service Military Preparation Course run in York are planning to run a Charity event in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Maytree: A sanctuary for the suicidal.

The plan is to run, bike and row from Lands End to John O'Groats within 24 hours. This is a total of 1374Kms all completed by the students aged between 16-19 yrs old.

The event will be run at Worsley Barracks on Fulford road over 24 hours where the students will work in groups of 6 (of which there will be 3 groups) and will rotate each hour and rest for 2 hours. Each group will try to achieve upwards of 60 kilometres each hour and this will hopefully finish within the 24 hours.

As if this wasn't enough the groups are going to lift the equivalent of a Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank (weighing 72 tonnes) during the whole event.

The Students will sleep (when they can) at the Barracks and have to eat and recover during the 2 hr rest period.

The Students are all looking to join the Armed Forces while on the course but the 2 Charities are something close to their hearts and they feel it is right to feel the it is the right thing to support the community.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support.
