Story

Simon Adams is running the Great North Run for two worthwhile causes. His family have involvementt in Kirk Merrington Pre-School, a Community nursery, staffed by a small staff team but run by a committee of volunteers. To remain competitive, costs are low and resources are always tight. The Pre-School needs a new laptop and will have to find the funds to purchase it. Half of the donations will support the Pre-School.

In his professional life, Simon is Head Teacher of Croft Community School, a special school in Annfield Plain, Stanley. The school caters for pupils with learning difficulties and autism. In these times of public sector austerity, resources are understandably tight and a high proportion of school income is spent on maintaining staffing and buildings. The pupils would benefit hugely from Trim Trail type equipment for sensory integration at play, and as a part of the integrated therapy in the school. Half of the donations raised will support this.

Please give generously and help us to better the lives and educational experiences of some vulnerable learners in County Durham. Simon will gladly take the pain of 13.1 miles in whatever weather Sunday throws at him. Please throw some contributions our way. 100% of the money will go to these worthwhile causes.
