    Story

The very handsome Mr.Dribbles entered our lives in June 2015 when he was brought into the Veterinary Clinic where I worked in Sidcup. He was found as a stray on the streets of London, flea ridden and severely malnourished. After spending a few days getting some TLC, warm food and much needed medical care we tried to place him in a Cat Rescue for rehoming but unfortunately being Summer and the height of cat breeding season we were unable to find a place for him.

I decided to adopt the little chap. He wriggled his way into my heart with this adorable face and his larger than life personality. He has a condition called Gingivitis Stomatitis Complex.

Gingivitis stomatitis complex (GSC) is believed to be an inappropriate response to normal plaque and viral antigens found in the oral cavity.

He had his first dental in August 2015 and we gave his teeth a good clean. After a course for antibiotics his mouth greatly improved.

I then relocated to Oxford to work at the Oxford Cat Clinic at which he has received excellent care. His second dental was in Sept 2016 but then required a further dental in May 2017.

He is no longer responding to antibiotics and we have decided that the best course of action now is to send him to a Specialist Veterinary Dentist for a full mouth extraction.

Approximately half of the patients managed by elective extraction show a complete response with resolution of all symptoms and clinical signs.

You can read more about his condition and the procedure HERE .

Unfortunately because we took Mr.Dribbles on in his later years with all of his dental issues pre-exsiting his is unable to be insured.

I have started this Just Giving page in order to raise funds to help pay for Dental Treatment.

The cost of the surgery will be between £1500 and £2000 pounds depending on the difficulty of the extractions, number of repeat xrays required and the length of the anesthetic.

Mr.D had his surgery on Thursday Jan 4th. He has come through brilliantly!! As we thought he needed all his teeth extracted and it took 4 hours under general anaesthetic. We expect him to make a full recovery. His bill came to £1700. Massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far to make this possible. Will keep trying to reach our target while he convaleses at home. Brave little chap. We love him so much. Xxx
