firstly id like to sincerly thank you for taking time to look at my just giving page and getting to know our situation.

my name is Dan. I am a husband but also a father to 4 wonderful children, from the ages 1-7. Id like to write a little about ourselves before we get to why i have opened a page asking complete strangers to donate to my family.

myself and my wife both have come from a very low income family, money was always stretched to the limit, food was always the lowest you would find. Very early in our relationship my wife and i agreed our children would not go through the same life as is and vowed that we would both hopefully instil a good work ethnic into them.

We both worked many hours each week to cover our household twice over, our children never went without and we were also able to save a substantial amount of money, that we had hoped would go towards either a house we could own, or there was the possibility to invest into something that would give a good return. We eventually settled on buying a very well established business, with a very reputable name that gave us confidence that our future would be bright and secure.

In order for us to aquire the business we were approved a 55,000 pound loan from our bank, with our loan and all our savings we brought our future but unfortunetly after just 13 months trading and putting every last penny of our own childrens savings into the business in order for us to carry on we realised our business was no longer working. We knew that our best option was to sell. Our business landlord came to us and explained how his long standing friend was very intrested. After a few discussions eventually that friend came back with a buy price of £3000 because he thought the business was in debt, when actually the debt had no hold on the business, only to myself and my wife. After many attempts to raise his price and getting no further we declined and told him bankrupcy was our only option.

within a week our landlord threw us out of the property stopping is trading and changing the locks on us, claiming we were in breach of our lease, we actually had an agreement to pay him our own wages every week to catch up. Also an even bigger knife in our back was his friend is now trading in the premises but he is using the business name we brought. We know that this cant be right so we have sought help from solicitors. Its been almost 6 months and woth myslef phoning every week for information i havent been given any news, still now me and my wife dont know where we stand.

I myself am hurt with what has happened but my wife who has had a serious history of depression has not taken any of this well. at the begining we managed to find work, we were working day and night to try and cover our now increasing bills but unfortunetly there just wasnt enough to cover both household and business bills. my wife became terrified of our children seeing her as a failure, embarrasssed when being stopped by our old customers asking what happened, her mind set on everyone around thinking it was her that made this failure happen. As a result she is currently on suicidal watch which has resulted in neither of us being able to work. Our rent now being pure most important bill to be paid but with only having benefits coming in at this time its not enough. Our landlord is not happy with us only coming up with so much has decided to finish our tenancy which ends in august.

So to my regret we have found ourselves creating a just giving page to hope that although none of you beautifully generous people domt know us, your hearts are pure enough to donate money to us. We are asking for £3000, which we know is an enormous amount but not only do we need to try and aquire another house, which we would need to pay 6 months rent so we know we have a little time for my wifes health to get better in order for us both to get back to work. But the funds are for us to go bankrupt which as ridiculous as it is. even when you have no money you still need to pay 700 each to declare bankruptcy which lets everyone know you have no money. It boggles my mind everyday, but this is the situation we find ourselves in. The business loan is in both our names so although we no longer have the business we are still liable for the payments. bankrupcy is our only option. We hope that by giving a new landlord atleast 6 months rent will show them that although our credit rating is about to be destroyed we are good standing people and trustworthy enough to trust that rent will never be a problem for them.
