Story
Our beloved Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Aline Taylor, sadly passed away on 20th May 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs Taylor had an unwavering passion for creative play and firmly believed in the power of outdoor activities to support children’s learning, development, and well-being.
We are excited to share that our children will be taking part in a special Southwold Marathon event, inspired by the London Marathon, to raise funds in memory of Mrs Taylor. The event will take place during Monday 27th April, during the school day.
Each class will be “running” to one of Mrs Taylor’s favourite countries by completing laps of our school field. This will be a fun and inclusive event where all children can take part at their own pace while building resilience and a sense of community.
Children are invited to come dressed in colours representing their class country:
🌍 Our Journey Around the World
Nursery – Italy
Reception – Croatia
Year 1 – Iceland
Year 2 – Greece
Year 3 – Canada
Year 4 – Cuba
Year 5 – Barbados
Year 6 – Indonesia
To support our fundraising efforts, we are asking for families and friends to sponsor their child/children by donating via our Just Giving Page. All funds raised will go towards Mrs Taylor’s memorial.
This event is about coming together as a school community—celebrating participation, supporting one another, and remembering someone very special to us all.
Thank you for your continued support.
