The MSG Community Centre is managed and maintained by the MSG Community Association, a not-for-profit charity. A small group of volunteers give up their time and energy to run and maintain the centre on the community's behalf, to improve conditions of life for those in our village and the neighbourhood.

The costs of running the centre are normally paid for from income from our hirers, fees from a small group of members, grants and local fundraising. Because of two lockdowns our hirers have been unable to run their classes and activities at the centre, and we have been unable to arrange any of our usual fund raising events. This has had a huge impact on our income.

Specialist Surveyors have now finished their inspection of the extraction fans in the basement and have confirmed that the current ventilation system, (installed some time ago), no longer meets the demands required of it. They recommend that a completely new system needs to be installed.

The cost of this work will amount to at least £8,400 - much higher than expected. In view of COVID-19 restrictions, cancelling all day time hirers due to the nursery using the main hall, and not being able to run fund raising events, we have set up a "JustGiving" page.

We hope to raise £5,000 towards the cost of the work, and ask if you could spread the word or share the link on your social media pages if you can. Any donations would be gratefully received too.

The Trustees believe that this work will be an investment not only in the short and medium term, but also for the longer term future of the community centre.
