Medical Students On a Mission (MSOM) is a student led non-profit organisation, with a passion to make changes in communities deprived of medical healthcare.

We are passionate about setting up and funding medical outreach programmes where we can reach out to those who can't be reached!

In previous years we have had camps in Nepal and Bulgaria and next year, we plan to go to Nigeria!!!!!

We are extremely excited about this; however we will need YOUR funds to make this happen!!!

Our target is £2500 which we need your help to raise by March 2020!

So why Nigeria?

Nigeria also known as the ‘Giant of Africa’ has the largest growing population with 186 million inhabitants. Lagos is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Unfortunately the state government faces major setbacks, due to its’ poorly developed healthcare system, in providing its population with adequate healthcare provisions.

The fragmented system is a result of inefficient surveillance of the healthcare system, inequitable distribution of healthcare workers and rising commercial pressures within the private sector.

Therefore our aim;

- Provide general examinations of the population in hospital.

- Examination of people with health problems affecting their livelihoods using screening methods.

- Provide applicable information on the affected area for diabetes, iron deficiency during pregnancy; hypertension and improve the awareness of communicable diseases with possible preventative measures.
