Story
This june five of us (Rebecca Black, Megan MacAskill, Lauchlan McMillan, Chrissy O’Hagan & Kyle Jackson) are completing Scotland’s 10K Tough Mudder in aid of Megan’s Space, a charity that is really close to our hearts.
Megan’s Space is an Ayrshire-based mental health charity, established in 2019 after the tragic suicide of Megan Copeland, a close friend Rebecca’s and a fellow pupil of the rest of the group. Megan struggled with her mental illness for thirteen years, before eventually taking her own life. The charity, in her name, was set up to provide therapeutic intervention by qualified practitioners to children and young people under the age of 26 who are struggling with their own mental health. So far, the charity has supported over 150 individual young people, as well as bereaved families, delivered wellbeing sessions to schools and colleges all over Ayrshire and are continuing to receive an influx of referrals through both health and education.
We are aiming to raise £1000, which would fund 20 therapeutic sessions for children and young people who are struggling with their mental health. It truly is a local cause, well worthy of your donation.
This will not be an easy challenge for any of us, and if you google pics of the Tough Mudder you will see why. We would really love your support and encouragement by sharing and donating. Thank you in advance - You are truly making a difference to the young people Megan’s Space are supporting!
