Story

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge is a gruelling 26 mile circular route in the Yorkshire dales, with a total of 1585m of ascent, to be completed in under 12 hours.

The 3 peaks are:

Pen-Y-Ghent: 694m

Whernside: 763m

Ingleborough: 723m

On the 7th of May myself, WO3 Barry Marshall, along with other Marine Training Corps instructors - Captain Andy Mcquiston, Colour Sergeant Jack Thorpe, Sergeant Joel Purchase, Sergeant Amy Prestidge and Sergeant Michaela Etheridge - will be rising to this challenge to raise funds for The Marine Training Corps Sutton Unit and the Royal Marines Association - The Royal Marines Charity.

The Marine Training Corps (MTC) - Sutton

The Marine Training Corps is a Community Interest youth organisation based across the United Kingdom. Currently, we have units in Kent, Sussex, Derbyshire and Norfolk with a three-year development plan to extend our units further into other counties. The Marine Training Corps has a wide range of adult instructors combined with both military and civilian experience to enrich the organisation for our young people. The organisation has a three-tier level of executive leadership, management and our operational staff. The combined experience of all staff gives the MTC a unique framework of a learning experience for all of our cadets on both a collective and individual level.

Marine Training Corps Sutton is the newest unit in the Marine Training Corps family. All funds raised go directly back into the unit to help enrich the cadets experience within the unit.
