Story
Welcome to the fundraising page of Maidenhead Town FC. This year see our 4th annual MTFC Legends event where the club raises funds for two causes special to us; the family of Peter Miles and MacMillan in memory of Jan Dunne.
On Saturday September 16th 2017, many of the players that founded the team in 2004 will play a charity game against the current MTFC side! This year, we'll also see our Reserve team playing our new A team. Due to the aching bones and tight muscles that always follow the game (for some more than others!), we the head to Boyne Hill Cricket Club for a BBQ, family outdoor games, a raffle and a special prize auction. Oh, and probably quite a lot of beer...
The reason we support these charities is because two important people to our club sadly passed away through cancer, Peter Miles and Jan Dunne.
Aged just 35, Peter Miles lost his battle with illness in December 2015. Peter was a close friend to me, the club, was a founding player to the team and left behind a beautiful young family, wife Becky and Lucy (5) and Alex (3). Half our raising will go towards a trust fund for his children to attend university later in life.
Jan Dunne was the mother of another close friend and former player Craig Dunne and our annual Charity event was initiated to raise funds for her sons’ charity challenge, the DC60 Challenge, www.dunnechallenge60.com. Half our raising will go towards MacMillan.
(we needed to set crowdfunding page not charity page as we will split funds 50/50)
We will be using this site to sell raffle tickets for the night - £5 for a strip of 5 - so please detail on your donation how many you would like. All ticket sales will be recorded even if you cannot make the day!
There are many charities and causes to support nowaways so we appreciate your time in reading this and hope you can follow our day through our website (above) and Twitter feed @Maidenhead_Town
Thanks in advance for your support
