Story
My Sherpa for Mt Mulanje is helping local relief efforts for coronavirus in Mulanje, Malawi and creditors are pressuring them for payment on relief supplies. Mulanje is a region near the Eastern border with Mozambique and a few hours south of their southern City of Blantyre; named for the hometown of Dr Livingstone... I presume..

One of the few people I've kept in touch with was Timve who took us mountaineering for the weekend and an active member in the local community we were staying with.

They're short a couple hundred thousand Kwacha(the local currency) which translates to around £150 to help pay the suppliers who gave them the aid packages in the pictures, supplying households across 3 villages with: cartons of soap; face masks; 10kgs of maize; 2 packets of soya pieces; handsanitisers and a plastic bucket for hand wash.

Since this seems a pitence to us to help their communities deal with the pandemic and general healthcare in the region I said I'd reach out to friends and family to send them what we can. I have every faith whatever spare funds on top of their debt will be put to good use in their local community throughout the rest of the pandemic and hope you'll consider chucking in couple bob or whatever you can afford to spare.
