I've raised £1000 to support the amazing work all of the team in the Neuro Critical Care Unit at Addenbrookes do every single day.

On the 4th January at 7:45pm, I lived everyone's worst nightmare.. two policeman stood at my front door, informing me that my mum, Carol, had been involved in a major car accident; had been taken to Addenbrookes Hospital and they needed to get me there as quickly as possible as her condition was critical.
Mum had sustained multiple injuries from the accident, but it was the major trauma to her brain stem which led to her being admitted into the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU).
It has certainly been a life-changing experience for our family, and without this highly specialised unit and its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, coupled with the skill, dedication and compassion from the entire team in the NCCU (Professors, Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Assistants and the cleaning team), I am without doubt that Mum would not still be with us almost 3 weeks on from that near-fatal accident.
In such a high-pressured and emotional environment where situations can change at a rapid pace, the respect and dignity they give to their patients is awe-inspiring and I have so much respect for every single person working in NCCU.
So many friends and family have offered comfort, support and help, and for us, one of the biggest ways to support us would be to supoort NCCU through this donation page.
On behalf of Mum, and our family, thank you in advance! X
