Story
What's the plan?
I've created MummyLinks to help local mums build friendship & support networks through playdates.
Right now it's a clunky website (www.mummylinks.com) so I want to create an app make it even better!
It won't be another platform for collecting online friends (gosh we don't need more encouragement to sit on our phones!) - but will facilitate mums meeting. After all, your friends were strangers until you met them!
Why does it matter to me?
I am passionate about this as I really struggled when my son was born. I had a great support network but I still struggled with PND&A.
If I found this tough with such a wide network; I can't imagine how tough it is for mums without local support (who may have just moved away from friends to have children, and often are far from family). I was happy to meet someone new - I just didn't know where to find them!
So MummyLinks was born!
And with the statistic that 1 in 5 mums struggle, if it's not you or your wife - it will be one of your friends.

MummyLinks is not just for mums that struggle – life as a mum is often unpredictable, so being able to meet mums close by, last minute, is invaluable!
How will the funds be spent?
To speed up the development of the app; I have an amazing tech partner - but between parenting, working and renovating we'd like some support to get this done ASAP.
If there is any change from development it will be used to put on more events to help mums meet.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far! You've enabled me to develop a simple Android version of the app (due to launch in a matter of weeks!) & to increase awareness! Watch this space for a great celeb endorsement, a promising charity partnership & obviously the launch! We hope to move onto iOS soon but will need to raise some more funds to get that going and to get the app a good as we'd like! 7 years agoHello! I thought I'd let you know about the social media campaign I started last week on Bank Holiday Monday! It was called #ShoutieSelfie and it involved people taking a selfie of themselves shouting to show that they supported maternal mental health to reduce the stigma! There was phenomenal support! I had 250 "initiators" to set it off at 9am and we got #maternalMHmatters trending within the first half hour! We got 600k impressions in the first 8 hours, and have almost hit 1million in the first week! Thanks to those of you that sent one!

I'm a mum-of-one trying to help all the mums out there! Prior to having my son I worked at innocent drinks, but I've always wanted to do my own thing, so I've turned my awful experience of PND&A into a positive by trying to help all new (or existing!) mums.
