What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.


Being a new mum is tough. And motherhood in the 21st century can be even tougher as mums often don’t live near family and friends for support. This can make it very lonely, which can unfortunately lead to mental health issues such as Post Natal Depression, which now effects at least 1 in 5 mums:

So the MummyLinks community is pulling together to help all mums struggling with loneliness, and in particular the 1 in 5 who struggle with their mental health by running
to raise money for the further development of the app! And we need your support by donating to help us around the races.

Some are avid runners pushing themselves to the limits. Others are new to running and will be training for the very first time. See profiles below! If you want to run and raise please do get in touch:

Last year we raised nearly £4k which had enabled the launch of a basic app due out in June. This year we are looking to raise more money to add extra features to make it even better for mums struggling with loneliness across the UK.

The donations will go towards app development and maintenance costs, enabling thousands of mums across the UK to beat loneliness and create those support “villages” once again.

"The experience was hugely out of my comfort zone, I have recently finished CBT for PND and anxiety. I avoided meeting new people and generally didn't enjoy baby groups whilst my daughter was small. Throughout my treatment my therapist kept saying the best possible therapy would be to get out there and chat to other mums - turns out he was right."

    I completed my 3rd week of the couch to 5k yesterday and it's going well! I had to take a few days break as I physically couldn't fit a run in which made it a bit tougher, but looking forward to running every other day again now. I've really noticed it helping with my energy levels and I'm really enjoying (slowly!) getting fitter again!
