Story
Mummy on the mend was set up by myself (Rachel) after suffering with pre and postnatal depression and finding there is no support for mum's like me.
I was really really poorly with my 2nd baby I knew something wasn't right from day one but I ignored it. At 32weeks I sought help and was told there is nothing they could do as I was due to give birth soon. Because of this I didn't mention it again. At 14weeks post birth things had gotten alot worse and I needed help as soon as possible. I rang my health visitor who was amazing and she got me a doctor's appointment that day. I was given medication and told to look at CBT. I had 3 sessions out of the 6 because I was unable to attend them all due to childcare issues. Unfortunately even if you miss 1 your not allowed to make that session back up. How can anyone get better within 3 sessions is beyond Me?????
After I had finished the cbt I was looking for support groups where I could receive support from people in the same boat as me. I was horrorifed to find there wasn't any in Kent, Medway, London and surrounding areas. Hence how mummy on the mend came about.......
It started off as a Facebook page which grew from 10 members to 300 over night. I now have 690 members on the closed group.
I have followers on Instagram and Twitter and have alot of interest from other professionals.
Within the groups I provide support to mum's via my own experiences. I also give the mum's help and advice. I have helped mum's with family issues such as housing crisis and much more.
I am looking for donations for me to he able to buy a hub and use it every day of the week in order for the mum's to access support throughout the week all year round.
Please help if you can. X
