Story

My mum, Julia, is 73 and a retired community midwife, she lives in a council bungalow in Rotherham. She suffers with COPD, has a pacemaker fitted and arthritis and has mobility issues and major problems with her breathing. She currently has a shower fitted over her bath which is totally impractical for her to use (she has fallen numerous times getting in or out of the bath) and has asked the council if they could fit a separate shower cubicle but the council refused this as they said the step up into the cubicle could be dangerous!! - they have offered to convert her bathroom into a wetroom but have told her she needs to pay £1548 up front to have the work done. She is also in need of a small mobility scooter to help her get out and about more as she struggles to even walk a very short distance without getting extremely short of breath. Unfortunately she has no savings so both the wetroom and the mobility scooter are currently out of reach for her, and they would improve the quality of her life so much. Any help towards these would be greatly appreciated to help give someone who has given so much to so many, and delivered 100's of babies into this world as well as offered help and support to those who have lost babies, a little bit of her life back. Thank you
