Story
Whilst a short lived prescence, the Munitions Factory, on what is now the DCC Poulter Park site, made an important contribution to the war effort and is an important part of Langwith's history.
Many of you will have seen that the current plaque; installed by Langwith Heritage with words supplied by the late, local historian Tony Warrener is in quite a sorry state of repair.

The Langwith Society, with support from Langwith Heritage and Derbyshire County Council plan to replace the memorial plaque for one with much greater longevity. Thus securing the memory of the factory, and its role in the war effort, for every visitor of Poulter Park for many years to come.
The plan is to replace the plaque with a granite slab engraved with gold and silver lettering. The aim is to have the new plaque in place by Remembrance Day 2026 (8th November). The total cost is just over £1,700 and is being supplied by Beecroft Memorials in Creswell who have generously given a substantial discount.
