Marlpool URC Theatre Company have been performing musicals since 1984. We are a company of over 40 members, aged between 7 to 75 years, who love singing and performing together. We produce two productions every year in the community hall at Marlpool United Reformed Church. As time has gone on we have started running out of space in which to make and store our sets and props. We also need separate changing facilities during our show week for our young people - we are one of very few companies in the area who always have our junior members performing with the adult members. We have received permission to build an extension on to Marlpool URC and building work has started. However, we have been told that, due to issues found during initial excavation, we will need an extra £5000 to get the build to water-tight condition. This news has come at a time when we’ve had to cancel our April concerts and our October production due to Covid-19 and we currently have no income coming in to the company. We’re hoping that some of our company members and audience members who enjoy what we do will be able to donate a small amount of money each so that we can find the extra money we need to get this project completed!
