Story
I am a member of the Domestic team working on the front line at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. In the height of COVID-19, with the death toll increasing each day, I couldn't help but think about those that have lost their lives to the virus, and couldn't be around their loved ones in their final moments. In honour of this, I've set myself the aim of completing a 24 hour walk around the hospital grounds to raise money for a memorial at the hospital, remembering all those people that have sadly lost their lives.
The perimeter of the hospital grounds takes roughly 20 minutes to walk around fully. I'm going to be doing this repeatedly for 24 hours, and on my own! Starting at 12 midday on Thursday 16th July, and walking until 12 midday on Friday 17th July. In that time, the majority of us would have worked a full shift, gone home, eaten, spent time with our families, slept and then arrived back at work.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated both by myself and the hospital. All donated funds will go towards funding a larger memorial on site, or an individual piece that represents the challenge I tasked myself with!
Ready to get my walking shoes on...
