Story
Musicians’ Minds Together is a charity whose main goal is to help remove the stigma surrounding mental health issues within the classical music industry though outreach, campaigns and education.
We aim to do this by:
Yearly Campaigns
Campaigns will be over a year, with a focus on specific topics/ issues that are prevalent within the industry surrounding mental health.
The first will be ‘We are Able’- a campaign focused on high functioning mental health issues that we see so commonly within the classical music industry.
Educational Workshops
As a charity we want to provide education to as many people and organisations as possible. We will facilitate this by providing workshops and talks which will teach participants to be aware of prevalent mental health issues and to develop the skills to be able to support those who may be struggling.
Peer to Peer Support Service
It is so important that we never feel alone with our struggles. Being a musician can be a stressful and difficult profession to manage. Which is why we would like to provide a peer-to-peer support service in which each musician will be paired anonymously with another musician to discuss and share tools and techniques which may help them. This would be moderated by a member of our team.
Individual Support Directly to the Musicians
Eventually, as an organisation we would like to provide support to musicians directly. We will offer 1-1 sessions, drop-in advisory sessions, and group sessions. This would require a team of qualified mental health professionals to work alongside us to create these services. This is a long-term goal, and I am aware that there are many steps towards getting to this point.
