Story
Fred Ball is a huge part of our local music scene. He has inspired/encouraged and helped so many of us as musicians. As well as providing incredible support, he offers an impeccable service as a sound engineer. For many of us, he has supported us through our creative journeys and Fred has seen many of us from the start to where we are now. He's the first to offer to help and we'd be lost without him!
However, Fred has suffered with hearing loss for the past few years and subsequently his job (mixing live sound) is becoming harder for him. He has struggled with NHS hearing aids for a few years now and doing what he does (relying on his hearing for sound engineering) they aren't quite what he needs! None of us would like to see Fred to have to step back from doing what he loves doing.
A large number of local musicians and friends have begun a fundraising quest to raise £5,000 to buy Fred some brand new hearing aids (the best that money can buy!) We will be setting several events up in the Horsham and Crawley area and selling merchandise at gigs!
Our aim is to raise the £5,000 for December (Fred's birthday month) and whatever you can spare, would be greatly appreciated by many, but of course Fred himself. He's blown away by the idea of it and is extremely grateful that people would want to help him this way :)
