Story

We need to raise £2,000 immediately.
Kyshia Williams is a Black, trans, non-binary, disabled person who was left to die.
That is not an exaggeration. The NHS harmed them repeatedly and refused to help. Social care abandoned them. They were placed in housing that wasn’t even accessible — their chair could not fit through the doors of their own home. They lost their carers. There were days they could not eat. Days they could not wash. The garden became so overrun with brambles that the outside world was completely cut off. Kyshia couldn’t even see out of their bedroom window.
Kyshia nearly died. More than once.
For years they fought back. They made complaints. They advocated for themselves. Advocacy organisations tried to help. Friends built a direct action community group from the ground up, fighting specifically for Kyshia’s rights. Every single one of them hit brick walls. Nobody in power moved. Nobody was held accountable. When Kyshia raised complaints, the system didn’t respond with answers — it responded by removing what little support they still had.
Eventually, Kyshia became too ill to keep fighting.
So they did the only thing left to do. They fled to the North, where they have finally found the care, treatment, and love they should always have had. They are safe. They are building a new life.
But now the council has realised Kyshia is gone — and we believe their belongings are at immediate risk of being thrown out onto the street.
Everything Kyshia owns. Everything they have left. Gone.
The council has been ignoring their reasonable adjustments throughout. Legal aid has failed them at every turn. There is no more time to wait for a system that has never once shown up for Kyshia.
We are asking you to show up instead.
£2,000 will get professional movers to London immediately to collect Kyshia’s belongings and bring them safely North before it is too late. That is all we need. One move. Please.
Donate whatever you can, right now — no matter how small, every single penny helps and brings us closer to getting Kyshia’s belongings to safety. Then share this page with everyone you know.
Please also keep Kyshia in your thoughts. They have been through more than anyone should ever have to endure, and they deserve to know that people care.
This system left Kyshia to die. We are not going to let it take what’s left. 🖤💛
